The Strength in Contradictions

I walked past some early spring blooms just like this last week (during an intentional phone-free walk so hereโ€™s a photo from the internet ๐Ÿ˜‰)โ€”pushing through the cold, fragile yet determined. A contradiction of seasons. A reminder that growth doesnโ€™t wait for perfect conditions.

This weekend, Iโ€™ve been sitting with contradictions like this in my own life:

Feeling exhausted AND deeply committed to my work.

Wanting to be present with my daughters AND needing space to breathe.

Believing in the power of science AND feeling disheartened by the forces working against it.

Itโ€™s easy to think we have to chooseโ€”either weโ€™re thriving or weโ€™re struggling. Either weโ€™re strong or weโ€™re tired. But the truth is, we live in the tension between both.

These flowers donโ€™t wait for the snow to melt before they start blooming. They thrive in the contrast, in the in-between. And maybe we can, too.

Whatโ€™s a contradiction youโ€™re holding right now? Letโ€™s remind each other that we donโ€™t have to be just one thing.
