An article published last week by the co-founder and CEO of LeanIn.Org highlights some grim statistics about women in the workplaceโ€”๐—ฝ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐˜ƒ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜ ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ฝ๐—ถ๐˜๐—ฒ ๐˜†๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐˜€ ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—ฒ๐—ณ๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐˜, ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ฝ๐—น๐—ฎ๐˜†๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—ณ๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ฑ ๐—ถ๐˜€ ๐˜€๐˜๐—ถ๐—น๐—น ๐—ณ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ ๐—ณ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—บ ๐—น๐—ฒ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—น.

For every 100 men promoted to manager in 2024, only 81 women received the same opportunity. So why are they still being passed over for advancement? There are only two possibilities:

Women have to work harder to be seen as leaders, and when they assert themselves, theyโ€™re often penalized for behavior thatโ€™s seen as ๐˜ข๐˜ฎ๐˜ฃ๐˜ช๐˜ต๐˜ช๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ๐˜ด in men but ๐˜ข๐˜จ๐˜จ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ๐˜ด๐˜ด๐˜ช๐˜ท๐˜ฆ in women.
